The mission of the Social Action Committee is to support programs that are in accordance with the UU Principles. Some programs provide direct assistance to individuals and families, such as providing food for the hungry or shelter for the homeless. Other programs address the root causes of social injustice or environmental degradation, such as providing means to lobby legislators. In order to fulfill this mission the Social Action Committee seeks and assesses Good Works Proposals to add to the collection of programs available through the UUAC.
